The following position, located in central New Jersey, is with a System Integrator providing end-to-end, turnkey solutions for the Defense and Homeland Security markets. Their complete security installations include Sensors, Command & Control, Communications, Access Control and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD). The company leverages decades of experience in defense and security through strategic partnerships with leading defense contractors and select vendors identified as leaders in their respective fields of expertise. 

General Position Summary:

Test Engineer with a minimum of 5-10 years experience in testing end-to-end large complex systems, and systems integration, with extensive experience in system performance, crash, and recovery testing. Preferably with a background in System Engineering and Integration, and scripting and test tools development, and then moving into Systems Test. Has worked closely with Systems Engineering and Software Development, with the ability for an in-depth understanding of complex networked systems.

Major Responsibilities & Tasks:

• Hands-on hardware testing experience and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to analyze test results, determine failure and root causes, and isolate faults.

• Experience with GSR systems integration and testing.

• Experience with RF communications testing.

• Experience with Windows based video applications and video cameras integration and testing. A video motion detection testing background is a plus.

• Knowledge in Network topologies, configuration, and integration, with network loading and traffic generation tests development and implementation.

• Experience in detailed test plans and procedures design, documentation, review, and verification, including performance and acceptance test plans, including hands-on involvement in executing tests during System Integration and Test.

• Experience with systems integration end-to-end functionality testing including installation, setup, adversarial, and sanity testing.

• Experience in performing comprehensive system level environmental tests.

• Ability to enhance testing with complex testing scenarios and add more permeations of functionality testing to increase end-to-end system coverage.

• Experience in both Windows and Unix systems environment, some System Administration experience is a plus.

• Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging, and growing environment to implement and execute test strategies.

• Ability to work under strict time frames to meet both internal and external deadlines and customer expectations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage own work and balancing between multiple projects.

• Ability to adapt quickly to new processes.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Able and willingness to work extended hours if required.

• Ability to lead testing by example and work well within a diversified team.

• Excellent work ethics with a high energy level.

• Proactive and positive mindset.

Job Specifications:

Knowledge:

• BSEE required, MSEE is a plus

• IEEE 829, ISO 9001 desired

Experience:

• Minimum 5-10 years experience in the integration and test of large systems

• DOD background is highly desirable

• Experience with DHS is a plus

Residency Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen

• A valid US Passport is required

Travel Requirements:

• Must be willing and able to travel domestically or internationally (50 %+) to support customer activities.
