System Engineer Manager International

The following position, located in central New Jersey, is with a System Integrator providing end-to-end, turnkey solutions for the Defense and Homeland Security markets. Their complete security installations include Sensors, Command & Control, Communications, Access Control and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD). The company leverages decades of experience in defense and security through strategic partnerships with leading defense contractors and select vendors identified as leaders in their respective fields of expertise. 

General Position Summary:

Major Responsibilities and Tasks:

Accountabilities: (Key roles and responsibilities for this position.)  

• Develop/ update requirements and architecture, build interfaces and conduct performance analyses for security systems.

• Conduct task analysis, functional allocation, and system flow diagramming.

• Develop/ update Interface Control Drawings (ICD’s), Specification Control Drawings, (SCDs), and COTS product requirements.

• Work with QA and procurement to resolve vendor problems.

• Work with procurement to insure vendor meets requirements.

• Supports validation of requirements through user research and testing with customers

• Create and update system designs and conceptual drawings

• Create and update detailed systems drawings including equipment interconnects including power, signal control, video, data and IP network.

• Develop nomenclature and schemes for interconnect identification

• Define, install and troubleshoot Fiber and copper network infrastructure.

• Develop update maintenance concept.

• Write system documentation including narrative and illustrations.

• System performance and operation.

Job Specifications:

Knowledge:

• BSEE/MSEE or equivalent experience

Experience:

• 5-10 Years

• Experienced in complex system of systems design and integration.

• CONOPS Development - desired

• Technical Management - operational requirements of homeland security systems - desired

• Overall leadership of project implementations and ability to assemble multis display components in system

• Experience managing teams of 10

• Familiarity with network equipment installation and use including:

1. Telco level networking

2.  Enterprise level networking

3.  Cisco switches

4. Video over IP

5.  UDP/TCIP

Preferred/Highly Desirable:
Experienced with sensors interface, system operation and installation. Included sensors:

• Video Cameras

• Thermal sensors

• Radar

• Motion detection sensors

• Video analysis sensors

• Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision to achieve objectives.

Skills / Aptitudes:

Proficient in MS Office Suite including Visio

Residency Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen

• A valid US Passport is required

Travel Requirements:

• Travel domestically and internationally to support customer activities will be required – up to 50% of time.
