General
Position Summary:
Growing
aerospace electronics engineering company is currently searching
for a Quality Engineer for their central NJ location. The
Quality Engineer will prepare and maintain Quality Control
procedures and instructions to insure effective application of
QC policies, procedures and specifications for company products.
This position includes product configuration control and
documentation, leading corrective action activities, and
identifying quality improvements. Qualified candidates will be
familiar with documentation audits, configuration
validation and verification, design standards, system
configuration, release management, oversight and support of test
strategies, and change control processes. Familiarity with
aerospace standards for hardware and software quality assurance
and product certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

Quality
Processes:
-
Design,
document, install and evaluate quality process systems,
procedures and statistical techniques. Conduct process
improvement measurements, collect and analyze data and
provide recommendations based on results. Improve
operational quality metrics using process driven methods.
Assure that product and quality system issues are resolved
with appropriate methods and documentation.

Lead
root cause and corrective action activities through a
combination of data driven analysis and applied engineering
knowledge. Interface with customers for quality concerns and
corrective actions and failure analysis.

Establish a yearly Quality Plan for both internal and
contract house process audits.

Participate in design-based quality improvement activities
and identify new manufacturing processes required to support
new technologies. Plan and coordinate quality related
activities of customer contracts to insure compliance with
contractual requirements and adequate documentation.

Provide
Quality initiative status reports to senior management on a
defined periodic basis.
Product
Configuration Management:
-
Ensure
proper product design documentation is developed and
configuration management is properly executed. Work closely
with engineering organization to develop product reliability
assessments and analyses.

Assure
Bill of Material accurately reflects final design
configuration.

Ensure
Safety of Flight and product lifecycle requirements, such as
component lot traceability, are addressed and fully
supported through internal practices and by suppliers.

Provide
due diligence reviews of proposed contract manufacturing
vendors and review final draft contract/Statement of Work
(SOW) for applicable manufacturing and quality standards.

Develop
documentation required to support manufacturing activities
(including contract manufacturers) such as work
instructions, quality SPC targets, and other manufacturing
related documentation.

Develop
requisite documentation, approval, and release of ECNs and
related product change notices.
